Fortnight for Freedom: Final Day

It was difficult, trying to decide how to wrap up this blog's marking of the Fortnight for Freedom.  The USCCB has a lot on their website that I could have put here.  Additionally, there are many excellent things written about religious freedom, by both priests and laity, that could have drawn a bold line under what I've done here.  There's also a plethora of prayers and essays about the violation of religious freedoms going on in other countries right now, which I didn't touch upon.

What I've chosen as the end is not directly related to religious persecution or religious freedom.  But it's something that would come as no surprise to those who know me; those who know that I am always seeking a sense of that 'peace the world cannot give.'

Efficacy of Patience
St. Teresa of Avila

Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing scare you,
All is fleeting,
God alone is unchanging.
Everything obtains.
Who possesses God
Nothing wants.
God alone suffices.

Eficacia De La Paciencia

Nada te turbe,
Nada te espante,
Todo se pasa,
Dios no se muda,
La Paciencia
Todo lo alcanza;
Quien a Dio tiene
Nada le falta.
Sólo Dios basta.

God alone suffices!!!
